Yamaha XSR 155 is an upcoming small capacity bike from  Yamaha. Yamaha XSR 155 is the smallest bike in the sports heritage line up of the brand. According to some sources, Yamaha is working on a India based XSR 155. the bike has already been revealed in some of the Asian countries. 

According to the executives at Yamaha the bike is mainly focused for south Asian countries like India. So, In some of the countries like Indonesia XSR 155 is already revealed. The XSR 155 will share its engine with its sibling, The R15 V3 and  Yamaha MT 15. 

Launch In India

There are yet no official confirm date from the brand for the launch of Yamaha XSR 155 in India, however it is expected to hit the market soon. The XSR will likely be launched in India at the end of the year 2020. 

As the India based variant will be different than the ongoing model, it will take time to develop the India based XSR 155. So, the excat time frame could't be given yet as this is too early. The actual launch may take place in the late 2020 or the early 2020. 

Yamaha XSR 155 Overview

The XSR 155 will borrow its design from its elder sibling the XSR 900 and XSR 700. In terms of design Yamaha XSR is a beauty to see, it has amazing retro design with some modern touch to it.  

The Yamaha XSR 155 will be based on its already sold siblings the R15 V3 and MT 15. It will have the same 155cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, DOHC engine. The power and torque is expected to be around 18 PS and 16 Nm respectively. The engine will be mated to a six speed gearbox mechanism. 

It will have the assist and slipper clutch system derived from its siblings. The slipper clutch features in smooth gear shifts at higher rpm and light clutch pulls. it also reduces the reverse torque produced by engine while aggressive downshifts. The slipper clutch mechanism also makes the clutch pull light and easy to operate when in heavy traffic you have to go through frequent gear changes. 

The upcoming XSR will have a telescopic forks for the India based model instead of a up-side forks like the ongoing international model. The suspension will be swapped due to the pricing issue, as USD fork is a premium and complex hardware component that will add more to the overall cost, so like all the other bikes from Yamaha India, it will also lose the USD forks. The USD front forks provide solid stability at high speeds and add more aesthetic appeal to the bike and eventually give a bike kind of premium touch. However the rear suspension will be same as the international model, a mono shock with adjustable preload. 

The Brakes on the XSR 155 will be a disc brakes unit at both the front and rear wheel. the disc size and calipers will be similar to its sibling. it will come with dual-channel ABS as standard. the abs feature helps the rider to control the bike in case of a harsh or panic braking situation. ABS is a great feature that ensures safe braking for both the newbie riders as well as experienced riders. 

Features Of Yamaha XSR 155

Yamaha XSR 155 will have a fully Led headlamps and taillights, it could skip out on LED turn signals, to keep it simple. The round LED headlamps looks amazing on the XSR 155. It will have a round shaped, handlebar mounted fully digital instrument cluster that will show a lot of features. 

It will have the VVA technology like its siblings, the VVA technology helps the engine produce torque at low and mid range.

If Yamaha launches this bike in India , it will be a sure shot hit. the xsr 155 is a good looking motorcycle and impresses the moment you see it. Currently there are not other bikes like the XSR 155 in this price segment, so if Yamaha price it well it can be a great addition in their portfolio. We are expecting the price of 1.4-5 Lakhs For the India based Yamaha XSR 155.
